British Blind Open with Calcaterra and the Pozzi Giacosa

The international activities Andrea Calcaterra and Chiara Pozzi Giacosa, blind athletes, which will begin going to defend singles titles last year in the British Open Blind. Andrea Calcaterra and Chiara Pozzi Giacosa They confirmed their titles in the British Open Championship held at the Blind Cardona Hotel G&CC, Peebles, Scotland. The first was for the third time in a row and the fourth Giacosa Wells in a row: for both a sequence that had never occurred in the history of the tournament. Andrea Calcaterra and Chiara Pozzi Giocosa are in their respective categories of visus, for an authentic Italian triumph in 68° U.S. Blind Open Championship played on the path of the Stone Creek Golf Course, Portland, Ohio.



The Blind Italian Open will be held from 1 to 4 October on the location of the Golf Club Barlassina, pictured, Lentate (MB), and will have the important sponsorship of ISPS Handa and the patronage of the Italian Golf Federation. 22 competitors will take part including four Italians: Andrea C., Clare Wells Giacosa, Mirko Ghiggeri and Stefano Palmieri.

Italian players have dominated in the fourth edition of the Italian Open Blinds Handa ISPS, tournament reserved for players “blind” of various categories of visus, which took place at Nice ahead of Golf Club Barlassina. In fact, Andrea C. has established itself in the category B1, Clare Wells Giacosa in Ladies category and Mirko Ghiggeri in the general classification drawn. C. concluded with 215 hits (105110), preceding the same Wells Giacosa (223), Ronald Boeff (253) and Stefano Palmieri (268-132136), Follonica player who showed great passion and determination on his debut in the international field.


Blind Vision Cup: win the World Team with Calcaterra e Giacosa

The path of the Green Island Golf Club, in Columbus, Georgia, was held the Cup, Ressmeyer Vision version for blind players Ryder Cup matches that saw opposing the North American Team and the World Team, which included Andrea Calcaterra and Chiara Pozzi Giacosa. The World Team has established itself for -12.5 13.5 and gave a nice contribution the two Italian players, victorious several times in international tournaments and world blind weight.

The location of Barlow G & CC Mirko Ghiggeri, defending champion, has granted Handa a nell’ISPS Italian Blind Open, where they face blind players divided into three categories of visual acuity. The 28 year old player Chiavari has emerged only in the category matched with 134 strokes (64 70, -10) before the Canadian Jeff Skemer (135, -9) and S. Palmieri (139, -5). In the female the US prevailed Linda Port 161 (85 76), which preceded Chiara Pozzi Giacosa (179).

In the category B1 still a success for the Israeli Zohar Sharon, reigning world champion, who finished with 199 (98 101) blows past the Canadian Brian McLeod (215) and Andrea Calcaterra (218), another player who has a number of honors in victories. In the B2 had most of the Irish And Macguire (201-89103) with a stroke margin over Ghiggeri (202) and eight on English Malcolm Elrick (209) and B3 race head of English John Eakin (161 – 82 79), which has clearly distanced Scots Ally Reid (188) and Alan Morgan (189).
